Who We Are

Hope Wing Liberia is a non-profit arts service NGO dedicated to empowering Liberians in their efforts to overcome poverty and achieve sustainable economic growth, improved education, and a healthier environment.

What We Do

We strive to create sustainable methods that promote economic growth and uplift families and communities from poverty. We are deeply committed to enhancing the well-being of individuals and communities by providing access to educational and agricultural resources, as well as implementing community-based initiatives.

In our work, we actively combat social issues such as drug abuse, teenage pregnancy, sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), and crime. We promote peace-building, education, and life skills development as effective means to address these challenges.

Recognizing the transformative power of the gospel, we actively reach out to individuals with the message of hope and transformation. One of our primary areas of focus is sustainable agriculture development. We support rural communities in adopting sustainable farming practices and developing local food systems that improve food security and enhance livelihoods.

What We Believe

We firmly believe that sustainable development can only be attained through a holistic approach that addresses the interconnected needs of individuals and communities.

We firmly believe in the importance of empowering youth for the sustainable development of communities. At Hope Wing Liberia, we prioritize building partnerships and collaborations to create enduring impacts. We work closely with individuals, communities, government agencies, and other non-profit organizations to promote sustainable development and address the unique needs of the communities we serve.

Through our comprehensive approach to development, we are committed to making a lasting impact and creating a brighter future for the people of Liberia.

Our Approach with the Gospel

We are committed to spreading the message of the Gospel to people in communities, schools, and rural areas. Through evangelism efforts, we aim to reach individuals who may not have had the opportunity to hear the good news about salvation.

In communities, Hope Wing Liberia works to build relationships with residents and offer support through acts of service and spiritual guidance. This may include organizing events, providing resources, and offering counselling to those who seek it. Through these efforts, the organization hopes to demonstrate the love of God and share the message of salvation with those who may be searching for hope and purpose in Liberia.

In schools, Hope Wing Liberia seek to provide students with a foundation of faith that can guide them throughout their lives. We offer after-school programs, mentorship opportunities, or lead chapel services to share the gospel message. By investing in young people, the NGO hope to help them develop a strong faith that will sustain them as they grow and face life’s challenges.

We work in rural areas, to reach individuals who may be isolated from larger communities and lack access to resources. Through evangelism efforts, we seek to offer support, resources, and spiritual guidance to those living in remote areas. This may include partnering with churches, organizing community events, providing basic necessities, and sharing the message of hope and salvation through words and deeds.

Overall, the NGO is dedicated to winning souls for the kingdom of God through evangelism efforts in communities, schools, and rural areas. We seek to share the good news of salvation, offer support to those in need, and demonstrate the love of God through service and outreach.

Our Founder

Hope Wing Liberia was founded by a young Liberian leader, Joseph K. Kerkulah. He was initially affiliated with Joyous Fountain Christian Center, located in Paynesville, Liberia. In 2020, the church relocated to Careysburg, and it was there that the church began implementing Hope for Liberia vision.

In 2021, God spoke to our CEO, urging him to move to the church compound and take care of the building and surrounding area. However, he initially ignored this divine guidance, leading to a series of failures, accidents, and a general sense of dissatisfaction with his life. Despite this, the voice of God continued to speak to him during every church service, and he also remained an active volunteer for the NGO.

Finally, in October 2022, he made the decision to heed God’s call and move to the church compound. From that point onward, remarkable things began to unfold before his eyes. He witnessed mysterious occurrences that can’t be measure and also found himself involved with prominent NGOs, including the United Nations. Then, in November 2022, he crossed paths with Sophia, a lady from Canada who had come to Liberia through Hope for Liberia. Sophia was the only person who could empathize with the pain he was experiencing at that time. He confided in her about his vision, and she encouraged him to start with whatever resources he had and could acquire.

On the day he decided to establish Hope Wing Liberia, he experienced a significant setback. He lost his only motorcycle, which had been sponsoring his education and livelihood. Additionally, his personal relationships suffered, and his mother fell seriously ill that same November. Overwhelmed with heartbreak, he temporarily stepped away from his endeavor.

However, God continued to fuel his burning desire to start the organization and provided him with the strength to persevere. Later, he gathered a group of young people from the community, and together they established Hope Wing Liberia.
